Please arrive on-time for your shift(s). A short overlap in shifts will ensure that the second shift volunteers receive a quick run-down/orientation to the task at hand.
Be sure to bring a hat, sunscreen, and wear comfortable shoes. As most of you already know, San Francisco weather can bring suprises, so wear layers.
Although we will have water available, we suggest that you bring a water bottle to keep you hydrated through the day.
THANK YOU for helping make this year's Theater Festival a success; we greatly appreciate your time and energy invested in this event. The following are points to help orient you.
- Volunteers must check in upon arrival at the Check-in table/tent in the outdoor gardens.
- Please "train" the next volunteers for your position. About 20 minutes before the end of your shift, volunteers will come to relieve you, so make sure they are clear on their task before you leave. Share any ideas, thoughts, things they should know…
- All volunteers should be sure to inform everyone that the festival is held in many venues, including the Zeum area across the bridge over Howard St. The children’s shows are located there.
- If you have any questions throughout the day, ask them at the Check-in tent.
- If an emergency arises, find a security person or call 911. Then notify the staff at the Check-in tent.
- Should visitors ask for nearby restaurants, direct them to:
Samovar on the upper level and the Metreon’s restaurants
