perform at the festival!

Performer: La Vache EnrageeSunday July 27, 2008 at Yerba Buena Gardens

The SF Theater Festival invites Bay Area (and beyond) theater groups and solo performers to participate in the annual festival. Over 10,000 people attend. With a few exceptions, all performances are under 30 minutes. There are 14 stages, indoors and outdoors. It is a FREE celebration of live theater. The festival is your opportunity to work together with the rest of the theataer community to focus community attention on THEATER! This is an excellent way to gain exposure for your group of show. You will also have the opportunity to distribute literature at tables available to all  performers.

Here is what past participants had to say about the festival:

“It’s a great idea to expose companies to new audiences.”

“The festival built a monumental excitement that is contagious. The people I know who attended have been telling lots of people about it, and the biggest comment is ‘I want to know when it is for next year’.”

“Many people don’t realize there is so much theatre in the Bay Area. They may see a lot of performances they would not normally look for or be drawn to.”

“We interacted with hundreds of people at our table, handed out lots of flyers for shows and classes, and added 60 people to our mailing list. In the past year we’ve had … people come to our shows saying they’d seen us at the San Francisco Theaer Festival.

“It appears the festival is doing precisely what it has promised—attracting new audiences to our companies.”

“The hosts interviewing each director/cast after each show was awesome, giving people a chance to plug their work, hand out flyers, etc.”

“Where else can you get such a cross section in close proximity over a very short period of time. Excellent opportunity to build audiences.”

“We sensed that many people in our audience were turned into potential audience members for future performances. I am sure this was a universal phenomenon.”
